4. Hardwood Lumber & Millwork
One of a woodworkers favorite words is “pick your own lumber”. And, that’s exactly what Hardwood Lumber & Millwork offers up at their 3,600 sqf hardwood facility.
But while you’ll find a solid selection of import hardwoods, domestics and plywood they have the same request as I do: put the boards back neatly. We’ve all seen Home Depot twisted lumber piles caused by careless buyers destroying leaving lumber to dry in a heap.

Resources
Not surprisingly, Florida leads the US in it’s exotic hardwood offerings. But, hardwood suppliers scattered across the state also offer up complete lines of hardwood, live edge slabs and plywood with all-in-one retailers that woodworkers favor.
Florida Woodworking Resources
Featured Florida Wood
While other states feature their state tree (Florida is the Sabal Palm), a wood commonly used in high moisture climates like Florida is Teak. And not because it’s grown in Florida, rather because of the extensive use in marine and household applications.
Buyer’s tip? Make sure you understand if your purchase is old growth teak or a (lower quality) plantation variety.
