You’ll find no shortage of hardwood in Pennsylvania. Due to a great mix of mills, a vibrant forestry, and a dense population there are a number of lumber suppliers that sell direct to woodworkers.

Featured Pennsylvania Wood
While not all states have a state tree that’s a desirable wood for projects, in Pennsylvania the old growth Eastern Hemlock is my choice. While best responsibly sourced (no tree lives forever – but these can live 800 years), this is a great wood for small projects.
